Folklore-Historical Museum of Askifou

The Folklore-Historical Museum in the village of Askifou in the municipality of Sfakia is a very important collection of objects of folklore and historical interest. This collection is housed in a renovated traditional Sfakian house, donated by the historic Bikouvaris family. In the main hall of the museum, visitors can see traditional costumes, objects and tools, but also observe the special architecture of the simple Sfakian house. In addition, in the Museum's Macedonian Struggle room, visitors can learn about the activities of the Sfakians during the Macedonian Struggle, and see their uniforms and armaments.

Summer Visiting Hours. every Saturday 4pm-7pm and every Sunday 10am-3pm
